The New Orleans Saints have waived rookie QB Chase Daniel, Scout.com has confirmed through a league source. Should Daniel pass through waivers unclaimed, the Saints are expected to sign Daniel back to their practice squad.

With the open roster spot, the team is expected to add K Garrett Hartley to their 53-man roster. Hartley's roster exemption ends at 4:00 PM ET on Tuesday. With Hartley expected back on the roster, the Saints will be carrying two kickers, John Carney being the other one.

Hartley was suspended four games for violating the league's policy on banned substances.
