On last Saturday at the 7-on-7 competition held at Hickman High, ShowMeMizzou spoke with a trio of 2012 Kewpie prospects. Chief among those is DE Alex Keith 6'3" 205 4.7 forty. He has the frame to add more size, and will need to get stronger, but already displays cat quickness, explosiveness, and a non-stop motor.
Keith talked about what he does well, and what he needs to work on.
"I guess just the finesse part," said Keith, referring to what he does well. "(I need to work on) the power moves, just get stronger."
Keith plays receiver for Hickman, as well as defensive end. He's posted a 37" vertical jump, and a personal best in the bench press of 225 pounds. Hickman Head Coach Jason Wright talked about his talented player. Coach Wright said that Keith is a lot stronger at the point of attack than you'd think, but that he's at his best when teams run away from him. He's too quick for opposing linemen, and he displays a high-end non-stop motor, pressuring the quarterback and running down everything from the back side.
Coach Wright believes that Keith will play DE in college, and is potentially a D-1 player.
