Tiger Basketball Camp Wrap-up

A look at the Missouri elite baskeball camp top underclssmen

Late Friday morning as Missouri's Elite Camp was winding down, a couple of squads, one coached by Marcus Denmon and the other coached by Jon Underwood, engaged in an intense, closely contested game of 5-on-5 basketball.

Denmon's team, which was led by 2011 Missouri recruit, Otto Porter 6'8" 190 Sikeston (MO) Scott County Central, staged a furious comeback for the win. Other members of Denmon's team included 2012 wing Nathan Jackson 6'5" 180 Wichita (KS) East, 2012 Cameron Golden 6'0" Memphis (TN) Ridgeway, 2012 DeSean Rice 6'0" 150 Fort Smith (AR) Northside, who scored the winning bucket on an assist from Porter, and 2013 Dedrick Lee 6'1" Clarksville (AR). All five of these players are quality D-1 recruits, and I would expect that Missouri will be paying a lot of attention to each of them.

Underwood"s team featured the ultra-athletic 2011 C/PF Ayodele Ojo 6'6" 230 Jonesboro (AR), as well as a couple of outstanding perimeter shooters in 2012 wing Cameron Biedscheid 6'5" 180 St. Louis (MO) Cardinal Ritter, and 2013 G Conner Frankamp 6'0" 150 Witchita (KS) North. All three of these players are going to receive considerable recruiting attention from Missouri. I think it's likely that Missouri will offer Biedscheid.

Cameron Biedscheid

Among the other 2012 players who caught my attention during this camp were Isaac Kreuer 6'9" Harrisonville (MO), who has a solid frame and a real nice back to the basket offensive game, and K.J. Pritchard 6'2" Lawrence (KS).

Sam Edwards

Jordan Martin

Among the numerous quality 2013 players not mentioned above were C Sam Edwards 7'0" Memphis (TN), F Jordan Martin 6'7" 185 St. Louis (MO) Hazelwood Central, G Aaron Collins 6'4" St. Louis (MO) Maplewood-Richmond Heights, F Semilore Ojeleye 6'4" Ottawa (KS), F Jalen Norman 6'4" Nixa (MO), G Trey Harris 6'3" Edwardsville (IL), G Justin Thomas 6'1" St. Louis (MO) Whitfield, G Patrick Birt 6'3" Plano (TX), G Louis Tate 6'0" Memphis (TN) Fairley.

Edwards has a great frame to go with size that can't be taught, and reportedly is very coachable, and a hard worker with a passion for the game. He's a lefty with pretty good athleticism and a soft shooting touch who is just growing into his body.

Martin is a terrific looking prospect with the size and athleticism to develop into a very high level forward. Like Edwards, he's already a pretty good player, and I'm certain that Missouri will be keeping close tabs on both of them.

Collins and Lee are quality young guards who I'm sure Missouri will be watching, and Ojeleye and Norman are college prospects, as well.
