Iowa Lineman To Visit Missouri

Talented Iowa lineman and wrestler planning on visiting Tigers in near future

2011 OL/DL Austin Blythe 6'3" 275  Williamsburg (IA) recently informed ShowMeMizzou that he's been hearing from Missouri, and that he's planning to make an unofficial visit to Missouri toward the end of March.

Blythe said that he has not yet received an offer from Missouri, but is interested in Missouri.  "I don't really know a lot about the school, but I've heard good things about the school, and the athletic programs, and the coaches there.  That's why I want to take that visit, to see what it's all about."

Blythe reported currently holding offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, and Stanford.  He said that he has already visited Iowa and that the Hawkeyes are "at the top of my list right now", but that he's far from making a decision, and wants to check out some other schools.

Austin Blythe is a state champion heavyweight wrestler, and said that he knows 2009 Missouri signee Matt Hoch from wrestling.  He said that he is also familiar with 2010 Missouri recruit Christian French.

Blythe indicated that he doesn't really have a preference as to which side of the ball he plays on.  "They (Missouri coaches) haven't really talked about where I'd be playing.  I like playing on both (sides of the ball).  I'll just be happy with the opportunity to play.  It'll be great just to get to play Division 1 football."
