Winning can make all the difference in the world in college recruiting. College basketball is no exception. Missouri’s Mike Anderson is finding that out. College basketball is no exception.

Missouri’s Mike Anderson is finding that out. His Tigers are 24-5 this season and are nationally ranked.

Big time national recruit Jarrid Famous of Bronx New York apparently has taken notice of the Tiger’s recent success.

The Scout.com three star and one of the nations top junior college prospects is in Columbia as we speak for an official visit to Mizzou.

InsideMizzou.com spoke briefly with Jarrid Sunday evening to confirm that he would be making the trip to Columbia this week for the Oklahoma game.

“I will be there,” Famous said. “I’m excited about the trip.”

On the court, Famous certainly has a lot of potential. He averaged 21.6 points and 10.9 rebounds last season, earning All-Region XV honors. He’s widely considered one of the Top 20 junior college prospects in the nation this season.

“He’s a big guy – 7-foot,” said Mickdoil Carey, a Westchester Assistant Coach. “He runs the floor. He has good hands. He can face up and knock down the 18-footer. So he fits (Louisville’s) style of play well. He’s more four (power forward) than five (center). “He’s very aggressive defensively. One thing he’s very good at is helping weak-side because he’s so athletic. So he is able to cover ground defensively very well.”

In two games this season, Famous is averaging 25 points and 11 rebounds. Famous had 21 points and 10 rebounds against nationally-ranked Indian Hills, and came added 29 points and 12 boards against Moberly C.C.

“He was double and triple teamed in both games and played very well in each game,” Carey said.

InsideMizzou and Scout.com will have a post visit interview with Famous to get his thoughts on the Mizzou basketball program and his visit.
