There is no doubt that the University of Missouri coaching staff is looking for a wide receiver to replace red shirt sophomore wide receiver Jeremy Maclin who decided to take his talents to the NFL.

One high school junior that fits the role of big time play maker is Cahokia Illinois wide out Jimmie Hunt.

InsideMizzou.com confirmed with Hunt today that he indeed has an offer from Mizzou and that the Tigers are high on his list.

"I'm loving Mizzou right now," Hunt said. "I attended their junior day and liked everything about the school."

Hunt currently has official offers from Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri; he was currently at the Illinois Junior Day when he returned our call.

"I'm at Illinois right now," Hunt said. "They may offer me today; it would be nice to get another one. Right now I'm leaning a little towards Mizzou, I feel that I can come in and make an immediate impact."

When asked about being the next Jeremy Maclin, Hunt didn't hesitate with his answer.

"I just want to be the best Jimmie Hunt I can be," Hunt said. "If I do that I feel I could end up having a chance to be just as good as or even better than Maclin."

Hunt, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound athlete who runs a 4.4 forty, had 84 receptions for 905 yards last fall and 18 touchdowns. These numbers earned him First Team All Conference and All State honors.

Hunt is impressed with the Tiger coaching staff and how friendly everyone was at the Missouri Junior Day last month.

"Everyone treated me great," Hunt said. "I really all the coaches, the atmosphere at the basketball game was incredible."

Could a decision be in the near future for Hunt?

"Missouri is definitely at the top, I'm keeping my options open right now," Hunt said. "We will have wait and see when I make my final decision, it's still a little early in the process."
