New offensive assistant line coach Josh Henson is already making his presence known at the University of Missouri.
Coach Henson, known as one of the best young recruiters in the country, reached out to his home area when he offered Mustang Oklahoma offensive lineman Bronson Irwin.
"I gave Coach Henson a call today to get familiar with him," Irwin told InsideMizzou.com Wednesday evening. "After we talked for a while he extended an official offer. Coach Henson is from this area and we talked a lot about how things are in this area, he is a really cool guy."
Henson apparently made an impression on the standout big man.
"We talked about his coaching style and how it would be to be coached by him," Irwin said. "I plan on going to a couple of Mizzou's Spring practices to watch him coach and to get to know him better."
Irwin, a 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive guard, currently has offers from Tulsa, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Oregon and now Missouri.
Does Irwin have an early favorite?
"Oklahoma definitely has an advantage," Irwin said. "They are so close by, I can go up there a lot . The schools that are close by, definitely have an advantage, I want to be able to attend a few practices during their spring camps."
What does Irwin know about Missouri?
"I know they have had back to back 10 win seasons and they have won the Big 12 North the last few years," Irwin said. "I know they have a very explosive offense, I'm very excited about the offer from them."
