Missouri lost out on one defensive end from Texas on Thursday; they may have found another Texas athlete to replace him.
Long time commitment Terrance Lloyd switched his commitment to Baylor Thursday afternoon; it didn’t take long for another defensive end/outside linebacker to get the call and offer of an official visit.
Hitchcock Texas standout defender Michael Sam confirmed with InsideMizzou.com Thursday evening he will indeed be in Columbia for an official visit this weekend.
“Yes sir, I’m very excited about visiting Missouri this weekend,” Sam said. “Mizzou has always been high on my list, and I have been on theirs, they didn’t realize I was going to get a qualifying test score that I recently picked up.”
Sam currently has offers from Arizona State, Iowa State and Colorado State. Although Sam doesn’t have an official offer yet from the Tigers, if one comes, there is no doubt where the Lone Star State athlete is headed.
“If they offer I will commit while on my visit,” Sam said. “My recruiting coach is telling me it looks as if they will offer. I can’t wait to be a Tiger.”
Sam plays for Class AAA Hitchcock High School, but still earned First team All Conference honors as well as First team on the All-Greater Houston squad.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound athlete, runs a 4.6 forty and can play defensive end or outside linebacker.
“Missouri is talking about me playing defensive end,” Sam said. “I will leave tomorrow heading to Columbia, I’m very excited.”
