Wingo had great visit to Missouri last week

One of the nations top running backs resides in the state of Missouri. Gary Pinkel and his staff are trying their best to keep the standout athlete at home. Ronnie Wingo of St. Louis Mo. took his official visit to Columbia last week and to Kansas this past weekend. Go inside to get the latest on his recruitment and where the Tigers currently stand.

One of the top running backs in the country lives in the state of Missouri, now it's up to Gary Pinkel and his Tiger coaching staff to figure out how to keep the Scout.com 4 star prospect from leaving his home state.

St. Louis product Ronnie Wingo has been a busy man over the last few weeks, he took an official visit to Missouri last week, one to Kansas this past weekend.

"I just got home," Wingo told InsideMizzou.com Sunday afternoon. "I had a good trip to Kansas this week; I had a great trip to Missouri last week."

When asked to compare the two schools after taking visits to both locations, Wingo put on his best political impersonation, very hesitant to compare the two schools.

"I haven't had time to process my Kansas trip yet," Wingo said. "I haven't really had time to focus in on this weekend's trip."

He didn't hesitate to describe last week's trip to Columbia.

"It was a really good experience," Wingo said. "The coaches and players really made us feel at home. Right now I don't have an early favorite; I will take all my visits before making a final decision."

Wingo, who is listed at 6-foot-2, 210-pounds and who runs a 4.4 forty yard dash, has over 15 offers. He is scheduled to take an official visit to Arkansas on January 9th, and Illinois on the 23rd. His last visit will come down between Alabama or Minnesota.

Wingo declined to rate the Missouri visit on a scale of 1-10, but made it clear he had a great time. His family took the trip with him and came away from Columbia very impressed.

"My parents rated the visit to Missouri very high," Wingo said. "They loved it there."

Wingo got a chance to sit down and visit with head coach Pinkel before departing last Sunday.

"Coach Pinkel is a very straight forward man," Wingo said. "I like that about him, he made it clear how important I was for his plans for the future at Missouri."

The standout runner doesn't plan on making an official decision until all of his visits are completed.

"I may wait until signing day before announcing," Wingo said. "Right now I'm not sure, but I probably won't make the decision before taking all my trips."
