Getting to know you: Derrick Washington

InsideMizzou kicks off a new series detailing the incoming freshman class by getting to know Raymore-Peculiar star running back Derrick Washington.

My biggest strength is: “Probably my strength and field vision, I can see the defenders coming before I make my moves.

The player would I would compare myself to is: “Probably Barry Sanders, I’m not as fast as him, but I think my moves are up there with his.”

My favorite musician is: “[Rapper] Lil' Wayne. I just like his style.”

My favorite movie is: “I don’t know right now. I like comedies and scary movies. I really like scary movies.”

My favorite food is: “I like pork chops.”

The best player I’ve played with is: “Probably [my former teammate and MU standout] Chase Coffman.”

One thing I need to improve is: “Probably getting int the weight room more. I lift, but I don’t lift as long as I should.”

My worst habit is: “Nothing really. I procrastinate a lot.”

The Mizzou player I’m most looking forward to teaming with is: :Probably Chase Daniel. I talked to him on my official. He’s really competitive and I’m really competitive too.”

My favorite sports team is: “The Atlanta Falcons [because of Michael Vick.]”

Other sports I play are: “I play basketball and run track. I had 35 [points]” in a recent layoff loss.

My favorite hobby is: “I like to get on the NCAA ’07 [video game].I’ve been playing with Mizzou.”
