On Saturday afternoon, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2014 PG prospect Tramaine Isabell 6'1" 175 Seattle (WA) Garfield, while he was on his way home from his official visit to Missouri. He talked about his Missouri visit, and the current status of his recruitment.
"My Missouri visit went real well," said Isabell. "I enjoyed Mizzou a lot."
Last month, Missouri had wasted no time in offering the talented point guard after he had been released from his Letter of Intent to Washington State.
"I definitely enjoyed my time with the Missouri coaches," said Isabell, who said that his relationship with the Missouri staff grew closer during his visit. "I got to talk to the Missouri coaches a lot! And, I got to meet the Missouri players for the first time. I mean, we all kind of knew about each other. You know, they're all cool. I really enjoyed hanging out with those guys. I got closer to all of them. I like the team a lot."
Isabell was accompanied on his visit to Missouri by his mother.
"She loved Missouri," said Isabell. "She loved the coaches, and all the people."
Described as an "instant impact" player at the college level by his high school coach, Isabell shot 49% from 3-PT range and 83% from the FT line in leading Garfield to the 4A state championship.
Isabell said that he can see himself fitting in and playing at Missouri. He wants to go home and talk about it with his family, and with his mentor.
Isabell said that he might go ahead and visit Providence. Or, he could go ahead and commit to Missouri.
"I'm going to visit Providence when their coach gets back in the country," explained Isabell, "unless I commit to Missouri before that."
Isabell said that he might make a decision to come to Missouri as soon as this week.
"I think I'll figure this out within the next couple of weeks," said Isabell.
