On Wednesday, 2014 WR prospect Desean Blair 6'4" 188 Jacksonville (FL) Sandalwood signed with the Missouri Tigers. Blair had visited Missouri last weekend, and he informed the Missouri staff of his decision early this week. But he held off making it public until Signing Day.

On Wednesday evening, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Blair, and he talked about his decision to become a Missouri Tiger.

"Missouri's a beautiful place," explained Zanders. "I really liked the facilities a lot. But a lot of places have really good facilities. The thing that really brought me to being a Missouri Tiger was meeting all the people. Everyone was very welcoming."

Blair had previously reported holding "about fifteen" offers, including offers from Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa State, Louisville, Maryland, Nebraska, Purdue, Temple, and Vanderbilt, in addition to Missouri. In the end he chose Mizzou over Louisville and Nebraska. Blair reports a personal best of 4.55 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to go along with a 35" vertical, a 4.4-second 5-10-5 shuttle, and a bench max of 235 pounds. The long strider runs the 400 meters and the 200 meters for his school's track team. He reports having run a 50-second 400 meters, and a 21-second 200 meters. Blair is friends with Marvin Zanders, a 2014 QB prospect from Jacksonville who enrolled early at Missouri this week.

"That's my boy, right there," explained Blair, speaking of Zanders, who turned into one of Missouri's top recruiters down the stretch. Missouri had recruited Blair early in the cycle, but backed away after he committed to Louisville. After Louisville made the coaching change, Blair re-opened his recruitment, and Coach Henson and the Tigers renewed their interest in him.

"I feel really good about being a Missouri Tiger," said Blair. "I'm really glad that my recruitment is over. It had become really stressful. But, I feel great about my decision!"

Blair said that he'd like to come to visit Missouri for the Spring Game. He's set to begin classes at Missouri in June.
