Walters Focuses On Future Following Season

Following his senior season coming to an end with a playoff loss, Bradenton (FL) Manatee 2014 RB Trevon Walters updated us on the current status of his recruitment.

Earlier this week, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Missouri commit and 2014 TB prospect Trevon Walters 5’11” 190 Bradenton (FL) Manatee regarding his visit plans. And, Walters updated us on the current status of his recruitment.

“I talked to Coach (Brian) Jones last night,” said Walters.

Walters was still trying to get past a tough 15-17 loss his 11-1 Manatee team suffered to Fort Pierce Central last weekend in Florida’s Class 8A state play-offs. As a senior, Walters rushed for 1603 yards and 13 TDs on 201 carries, capping off a career in which he rushed for 2722 yards and 29 TDs, and averaged 8.5 yards/carry while playing in Florida’s largest school classification. He also had 43 career receptions for 567 yards and 54 TDs, and 4 kick-off returns for 176 yards.

With Walters’ season, and Manatee’s hopes of an undefeated season and state title run, having ended, he’s turned his attention toward Missouri and his college career. He reported that he recently received a qualifying ACT score. And, he said that he’ll visit Missouri in December, the exact date depending on what Missouri does this Saturday against Texas A&M, since a Missouri win over the Aggies this week would have the Tigers in Atlanta for the first weekend in December.

“I’m one-hundred-ten percent committed to Missouri,” said Walters, who went on to say that he’s not taking any other visits.
