Louisiana Linebacker Picks Up Missouri Offer

The Missouri Tigers have extended a written offer to a talented linebacker prospect from the state of Louisiana this week, and he spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com shortly afterwards about it and how it may affect his recruitment.

The Missouri Tigers have extended a scholarship offer to 2014 LB prospect Jaevon Walton 5’11” 235 New Orleans (LA) Edna Karr, who spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about the recently received Missouri offer, and his interest in the Tigers.

“Missouri has offered me a scholarship,” said Walton. “I just got the written offer in the mail.”

“(The Missouri offer) is big time for me,” continued Walton. “SEC! I like it!”

Walton, who is currently committed to Louisiana-Lafayette, also holds offers from Appalachian State, and Southern Mississippi, in addition to Missouri.

Walton said that his primary recruiter with Missouri is Coach Pat Washington. He said that he’ll have to speak with Coach Washington about setting up an official visit to Missouri.

“I’m going to check it out, and see what Missouri has to offer,” explained Walton, who is already academically qualified.

Walton ran a 4.57-second (hand held) forty at the LSU camp, to go along with a 35” vertical, a 4.32-second 5-10-5 shuttle, and maximums of 350 pounds in the bench press, 565 pounds in the squat, and 285 pounds in the hang clean.

Walton said that Missouri is recruiting him to play weak-side linebacker. He’s a big hitter, thick-bodied, and very physical. He said that he’ll probably visit Missouri “after the season”.

“Missouri is definitely in my top three,” said Walton.
