ShowMeNext 2015: KC Lineman On Tiger Radar

ShowMeMizzou.com introduces you to another top in-state class of 2015 football prospect who appears to be on the Tigers radar. The Kansas City prospect attended junior day and talks about his experience and what the future may hold.

When the Missouri Tigers held their junior day several weeks ago, they included a few select sophomores to the event.

One of those was Kansas City Rockhurst OL Jackson Jenkins 6'5" 300lbs 5.3 forty.

Jenkins attended the Elite Football Combine last year and was among the top performers following his freshman season. He has been a standout on JV and backed up Zach Hannon for a couples of years, but has caught the eye of Mizzou coaches, who recognize the potential of the massive young offensive lineman.

ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Jenkins about his unofficial to Mizzou and his thoughts about the Tigers.

"Junior day at Mizzou went great. Coach Henson invited me after I sent him my tape. I went with my step dad, they had a really cool display for us at the MATC... We ate lunch and the coaches at Mizzou brought up what they look for in players and the talent they have produced and that got to me. Then I talked with Coach Henson Coach Walker and Coach Hill and we went to the game vs LSU", said Jenkins.

"I met some of the players too. Talked to Evan Boehm for a little and I've always looked up to him so that was really cool. I'm a wrestler too like he was in high school so he's somebody I aspire to be like."

The big junior to-be lineman, who will also play some defensive tackle this coming season, talked about what he felt the Tigers interest level in him might be after his unofficial trip there.

"I think their interest is pretty high. I backed up Zach Hannon my first two years, so I haven't started a varsity game yet and I feel like that's what's holding them back from possibly offering me. I'm going to talk to Coach Henson about possibly going to the spring game."

Jenkins has been working very hard and is very motivated to show his ability as a starting this coming season.

ShowMeMizzou.com will follow his development and recruitment over the next couple of years.
