Bowser Receives Offer From OSU

Tyus Bowser

It was a tough way to go out in the Class 4A Division I semifinals as Tyler John Tyler lost to Denton Guyer 57-53 on Friday night in Midlothian. Tyus Bowser scored the last points of the season for the Lions as he punched in a one-yard quarterback dive for a touchdown. Bowser doubles up some at quarterback but his primary position is defensive end.

"Thank you," was about all Bowser could muster on the phone on Sunday afternoon when complimented on what a great season it was for John Tyler.

Bowser is teammates with receiver Fred Ross, a 6-1, 200-pound standout who was dominant in the playoffs, and he even caught a touchdown pass from Bowser the week before in the playoff win over Frisco Centennial.

"Oklahoma State has contacted me, just a few days ago," said Bowser when asked about his recruiting situation. "They offered me."

Bowser said he has not set up any visits and he has other offers including Big 12 schools like Texas Tech and West Virginia. He would likely visit Oklahoma State on the same weekend as Ross, who will visit on the weekend of Jan. 18.

We told Bowser we would check back with him and he said that would be okay.
He finished with 12 carries for 23-yards and a touchdown along with 3 receptions for 58-yards. Going into the game on Friday on defense, the 6-2, 225 pound Bowser had 59 tackles, 51 unassisted, with a huge number of sacks at 24. He also had 14 quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries, and five fumbles forced.
