One of several tight end targets that the Missouri Tigers have been recruiting is 2013 TE prospect Jordan Leggett 6'6" 230 Navarre (FL). Leggett has been committed to Clemson since March, but Missouri has continued to recruit the star receiver. Navarre (12-1) faces Gainesville (FL) (13-0) on Friday in the semifinal round of the Florida Class 6 playoffs.
Recently, Leggett took time to speak with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he updated us on his team's playoff run, and his recruitment.
"This is the farthest we've been in Navarre history," said Leggett, talking about reaching the state semifinals.
The subject turned to recruiting.
“Coach Henson came down to see me yesterday,” said Leggett, who will be a mid-year graduate and enroll in college for the spring semester.
Leggett is considering taking an official visit to Missouri in December, once his team’s playoff run is completed. He’s talking it over with his family.
“We’re still in the playoffs,” explained Leggett, talking about the time constraints associated with taking a visit to Missouri. “It might be tough to schedule time to visit Missouri........................................................... My dad talked to Coach Henson when he came down, and they set it all up already. He hasn't informed me yet.”
The state title game is scheduled for December 15, so the visit date is dependent on when Leggett's season comes to an end.
Leggett took his official visit to Clemson the last weekend in November.
He said that Missouri is probably the only other school that he will visit.
“At Missouri, I feel like I’d fit into their offense pretty well,” said Leggett, who reported personal bests of 4.60 in the forty, and a 35” standing vertical jump. “I like the school. I love the colors! I could see myself going there. They’ve put a lot of players in the NFL, especially at tight end.”
Leggett said that he will "most likely" visit Missouri before he enrolls.
I’ll have more on Leggett later.
