Defensive Tackle Very Interested In Missouri

Another day, another quality defensive tackle mentioned as being a target of the Missouri Tiger football program for the 2013 recruiting class. ShowMeMizzou.com shares the thoughts of this 3-star DT who holds a Missouri offer.

If you are a defensive tackle in the class of 2013 then the chances are that you have heard from the Missouri Tigers this spring.

The Tigers have focused on that position like a laser for this years recruiting class, and we are seeing particular focus in the states of Florida and Georgia.

ShowMeMizzou.com caught up with another Tiger offer that fits the bill in Hamilton (GA) Harris County DT James Ellison 6'2" 290 4.8 forty, who also goes by Jay.

"Missouri offered me this spring back in April,"said Ellison. I talked with Coach Grinch and Coach Kuligowski and we stay in touch. I'm very interested in Missouri. It's a great place to go to school from what I hear. It's got good academics and football. They just joined the SEC and it doesn't get better then that. They are a school I am definitely considering."

The 3-star defensive tackle, who wants to major in accounting, also has offers from Auburn, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech,North Carolina, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Michigan and Syracuse.

Ellison isn't in a hurry and claims he has no frontrunners at the moment.

"Right now I'm not sure what I want to do or about any school. I have taken an unofficial to Georgia Tech and it went well. I will be going to camp at Clemson and Alabama, and that would be huge if they offered, but I am wide open still and will narrow it down before the start of my season. Then I will take my officials and probably decide after that,"said Ellison.

The Georgia standout is being recruited as a 3-technique by most schools.

He self reported a 33" vertical along with lift maxes of 365lbs in the bench, 605lbs in the squat, and 355lbs power clean.

Jay Ellison also finished 2nd in the state wrestling championships at heavyweight, and threw in the shot and discus in track this past spring.
