Kansas City (MO) Staley QB Trent Hosick 6'2" 221 continues to see his recruitment be on the rise with a recent offer from Stanford and Ohio State increasing their interest level in the super talented dual-threat field general.
Trent was on the road last week making unofficial visits to Iowa and Illinois, along with a Saturday stop in Columbia to catch a Missouri spring football scrimmage, before heading back out on the road this weekend to check out the Baylor Bears on an unofficial visit.
ShowMeMizzou.com spoke to Trent to get his impression on his Mizzou stop and the Tigers in general at this time in his recruitment.
"Any time I get a chance I really enjoy going to Missouri and seeing the coaches and the players. I feel really comfortbale there and like I fit in. I enjoy getting to talk with James Franklin, and I love Coach Yost and Coach Hill, and seeing Coach Pinkel,"said Hosick.
"Seeing the scrimmage is great because you get a feel for where you fit in with what they are doing as an offense in my case. I know I was watching a Missouri team that has the tools to compete in the SEC for a championship, and be possibly a National Championship contender at some point,"continued Trent.
There were a lot of talented recruits also there on the day besides Hosick. I asked if he had a chance to visit with any of them?
"Yes,sir. I got to meet Ezekiel Elliott and talked with Nick Ramirez, and of course Morgan (Steward ) was there along with a bunch of other guys. It's nice to see and be around those guys. There is a lot of mutual respect for each other in this class. Even with guys you compete hard against during the season, you enjoy being there with them. Obviously, we are all considering Missouri and may all be teammates someday. So, it was nice to get to see everyone there that day."
"My family and I are heading to Baylor this weekend to check them out. They have done a great job recruiting me and I am looking forward to what they have to offer. Then probably a visit to Arkansas. After that I am interested in what Coach Meyer from Ohio State has to say. He has impressed me so far with what he has told me, and I may take a visit out there," said Hosick.
I asked the rugged QB if the timetable for a possible decision had changed since we last spoke.
"I had thought that I might want to wait until closer sometime right before my senior season, but I changed my mind on that. Now I want to move my decision up so that I can help whatever school I pick with recruiting. I want to take the lead and get to know all the prospects really well and help convince them to come play with me and win a National Championship."
