A 2012 WR prospect from Carthage (TX), Edward Pope 6'3" 171 4.5, has informed ShowMeMizzou.com that he will visit Missouri in January. Last spring, Missouri had offered the current TCU commit as a safety. But after seeing his senior video, Missouri told Pope that they wanted him as a receiver.
"I like Missouri," explained Pope, who played on both sides of the football for Carthage. "At first, they wanted me to play safety. I wasn't really interested. But then, Coach Odom told me that they liked me at receiver. So, that's when I really got my interest high in them."
Pope was planning to visit Missouri this weekend, but a school function has caused him to have to reschedule for next month. Pope, who reports a 38" vertical jump, said that he believes that Missouri is looking at him to play on the outside.
Carthage is located near Shreveport (LA), and Pope told me that he is looking forward to seeing Missouri play in the Independence Bowl.
Pope has been selected to play in the Army All-American game in early January. He's already visited TCU, and he plans to visit Texas Tech, also in January.
