Back in November, ShowMeMizzou.com identified Largo (FL) Indian Rock TE Sean Culkin 6'5" 220 as a prospect being targeted and offered by the Missouri Tigers. This past weekend Culkin made his official visit to Mizzou and shared his impressions of everything he experienced while on his trip.
"It was awesome! It was great!," said Culkin. "I had a really good time and everything was really nice. Beautiful campus. Good academics. Good football program."
Culkin walked me through some of the highlights of the visit.
"We arrived on Friday and I think I was the first recruit to get there, so I got to meet the coaches and talk to them. Then after we settled into our hotel we went and had dinner, which was awesome. I met my host Mitch Morse. Mitch is a funny guy and we had a good time. He told me what it's like to be a Tiger and we got to hang out with other recruits and players. I met T.J. Moe and got to have a really good talk with Michael Egnew. He seemed really cool."
Culkin continued to talk about attending football practice and the basketball game on Saturday.
"Watching practice was really cool. I like their hurry up offense and the way they use their tight ends. I can see myself playing the role that Egnew does now. The players really got after it."
Before he left campus Sean met with coach Pinkel to talk things over.
"It was a good talk with coach Pinkel amd the coaches. They didn't pressure me. They just talked about the reasons that I would be a good fit at Missouri, and they will let me make up my mind. I like that approach."
Culkin, whose one word used to describe the visit was "Awesome", wasn't sure when a possible decision would be coming. He still has many schools coming after him and is going to reflect on things, at least the rest of this week.
" A lot of schools have started to pay attention to me as of late. Just last week Georgia, Florida State,Mississippi State,USF , Iowa State and Missouri came to my school all on the same day. I didn't spend much time in class," said Culkin.
"Coach Pinkel comes for an in-home visit this Thursday and other then that I think I am going to chill on any visit this coming weekend and think about things and pray on things to help me decide what I want to do. Then I will decide if I want to take more visits or what I will do."
So where would the Tigers be on his list of schools he is considering?
"I would say they are up there. I don't have a top school on my list or I wouldn't list a top school. I enjoyed my visit and they are among the top schools I am considering," said Culkin.
ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow and update the recruitment of Sean Culkin.
The Missouri Tigers have dipped down into Florida to try and lure a tight end prospect to come North and play in the SEC for them. ShowMeMizzou.com has Sean Culkin's thoughts on his visit and where his recruitment is at the moment.
