Scherer Shares Mizzou Visit Highlights

Michael Scherer committed to Missouri back in the spring. He took his official visit this past weekend and dishes on his trip, being a Tiger and working hard to bring some friends with him to Missouri.

Missouri hosted 23 official visitors this past weekend, including MLB Michael Scherer  6'3"  228  4.7  St. Louis (MO) MICDS, who has been verbally committed to the Tigers for months, and who has been on the Missouri campus numerous times.  This weekend, Scherer used his official visit to accomplish two goals.

One goal was to kind of immerse himself in the experience of being a student-athlete at Missouri.

Scherer said that he spent most of the weekend hanging out with his host, Corbin Berkstresser, and other future teammates T.J. Moe, and Will Ebner, as well as fellow 2012 recruit Evan Boehm.

"(My visit) was great!  It was an awesome time,"  said Scherer, following his return home.  "It was a chance to kind of see what it's like to be a player there, and to see what it's like to go to school there, and hang out with all of the people.  You know, it's the same family atmosphere that it's always been.  It's just a whole lot of fun."

"All of the players are really nice,"  explained Scherer, talking about Missouri's family atmosphere.  "And, it's cool to see how much (the players) do things together, and how close they are."

Scherer's other goal was to try to help persuade Boehm that Missouri is the place for him.

"We're working on him,"  said Scherer, referring to Evan Boehm.  "We basically spent the whole two days together.  We all had a lot of fun."

Scherer said that the entire group of recruits that was on campus this past weekend is a good group of people. He talked about his Missouri official visit experience.

"It's awesome!  They treat you like a king,"  said Scherer, who likened his official visit to Christmas.  "Everything, from the hotel, to the people, to the food, and everything, it was an amazing experience!"

"It's awesome!  I can't wait to be there,"  said Scherer, looking forward to his arrival at Missouri.
