Webster-Chan Happy And Hopes To Add Teammate

Recent Missouri Tiger 2012 basketball commitment Negus Webster-Chan discusses his decision to play in the Big 12 for Frank Haith and shares his opinion on another of his prep school teammates possibly joining him.

On Friday, Missouri received a verbal commitment from 2012 wing player Negus Webster-Chan 6'7" 195 Huntington (WV) Prep, who is originally from Canada. Webster-Chan took time to visit with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his decision, and shared some of his thoughts about Mizzou.

"It feels great!" replied Webster-Chan, when I asked him how it feels to be a Missouri Tiger. "I'm happy with my decision."

Webster-Chan informed the Missouri coaching staff of his decision on Thursday night, and he said that Coach Haith was "very excited".

"The (Missouri coaching staff) wants me to come in and blow up," said Webster-Chan, who will sign with Missouri in November, and will arrive on campus in June.

"I felt very comfortable with the coaching staff and the players at Missouri," said Webster-Chan, explaining his college choice. "I saw that Missouri can be another home away from home. That was the feeling I got when I was there. I know Kadeem Green, too, a fellow Canadian. I wasn't expecting it, but when I got there, the (Missouri) fans shocked me. I didn't know they would be so passionate. Walking around with Laurence Bowers, everybody was just trying to talk to him, like he was famous."

Webster-Chan will play on the wing at Missouri.

"Both of the two and the three," said Webster-Chan, who also cited immediate playing time as a "big" factor in his decision to attend Missouri.

"I'm working on him," replied Webster-Chan, when I asked him about fellow Canadian, and Huntington Prep teammate, Stefan Jankovic.

"I think (Missouri) will get him."

"Look out for the 2012 class," said Webster-Chan, speaking to the Missouri fans. "We're going to bring the heat."
