The Missouri Tigers are well on their way to an impressive recruiting class. One prospect whom Missouri would like to add for 2012 is DE Javonte Magee 6'6" 260 4.8 San Antonio (TX) Houston. Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Magee, and he updated us on his recruitment.
The much-coveted Magee has an offer list that includes Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and many others, in addition to Missouri. Magee told ShowMeMizzou.com that he has forty-five offers. He would like to narrow his list of schools.
"I would like to (narrow down) sometime soon," explained Magee. "I haven't done it, yet. Everybody's kind of the same, right now. I have about forty-five offers."
Magee would like to narrow his list down to "about ten schools, then I'll go from there." His timetable for narrowing his list is "after football". Official visits would follow, probably after the season.
Magee said that he's being recruited as both a DE and as a DT, depending on the school.
"I want to play D-end, though," said Magee, who went on to say that which position he's projected to play would "not really" be a factor in his school choice. He listed some of the factors that would effect his decision.
"How I feel about the school, like the coaches, and the facilities," began Magee, as he listed factors that would impact his decision. "How my momma feels about it, how she's going to get to see me and stuff like that."
I asked Magee if distance from home would be an issue?
"Probably," replied Magee, who then backed off a bit. "I don't know, though."
Magee talked about his interest in Missouri.
"Missouri, they're good," began Magee. "They're in the Big 12, right? They're good. I'll be watching them on TV, sometimes........................ I like them."
Magee said that Missouri would "probably" make his cut.
ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow Javonte Magee's recruitment.
