4-Star Forward Talks Mizzou Offer

The Missouri Tigers continue their strong recruiting push for talented players to help fill up their 2012 basketball recruiting class with an offer to this 4-star standout.

The Missouri Tigers have been working hard on the recruiting trail. It seems that ever since he was hired, Coach Haith and his staff have been all over the country, identifying the right players to fit within his program.

Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with one such target, in 2012 SF Marcus Hunt 6'6" 215 College Park (GA) North Clayton. Hunt confirmed that he does hold a Missouri offer, and he talked about his interest in Missouri.

"Missouri's a big offer," said Hunt, who holds offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Kansas, Louisville, Miami, Oklahoma State, and Texas, among others, in addition to Missouri. Hunt said that he hasn't figured out which are his biggest offers.

"He's probably got 30 offers," said Georgia Stars Coach Norm Parker, speaking about Hunt. "He's a good player. He's a good athlete, but he's a better player. He plays the game the way it's meant to be played. He's one of the best I've ever coached. He's a big, strong kid. He gets in the paint, and he can score with either hand. He takes it to the basket strong! He's a great rebounder, on either end of the court."

Hunt talked about a time-table for his decision.

"I'm going to cut it down to like eight schools, in mid-August," explained Hunt. "Missouri's up there on the list. They're up high."

Hunt's taken some unofficial visits to schools that are close to his home, and he plans to take official visits to some others.

Hunt said that one thing he's looking for is a good education. Then, he talked about other criteria.

"I'm looking for a coach who's going to develop me into a better player," explained Hunt. "And, where I can get some minutes of playing time as a freshman."

Hunt also said that he wants to go somewhere that will win. He's known each of Coach Haith and Coach Fuller for awhile.

"I know Coach Haith from Miami," said Hunt, who explained that Coach Haith has been recruiting him for about a year. "I know Coach Fuller from Louisville. He came to my games. They've both seen me play in person.

Hunt would like to sign in November, so we'll follow up on Hunt in a few weeks.
