Michigan D-lineman Discusses Unofficial Visit

The Missouri Tigers had a talented defensive line prospect in for an unofficial visit on Monday and ShowMeMizzou.com has his thoughts on how it went

It has been a busy summer of unofficial visitors coming to Columbia (M0) to take a closer look at the University of Missouri as a possible college destination for some talented high school football prospects.

The latest was Muskegon Heights (MI) DE/DT Evan Winston 6'4" 255lbs.

ShowMeMizzou.com told you about Evan last week and his impedning unofficial visit. So we caught up with him afterward to get his thoughts on Missouri, as well as his following unofficial visit to Cinicinnati.

"They were great!," said Winston. "I got to be on the road with my Dad for both unofficial visits and it was good. My Dad and I got into Columbia a day early and we checked out the town. Then the next day I took my unofficial visit and got to tour the campus and see a lot more and meet with Coach Pinkel, Coach Henson and Coach Jones, who were all great guys. Coach Kul was out of town, but I got to learn a lot about everything, including the academics and about my major.

So how would he rate the unofficial to Missouri?

"I love Mizzou," said Winston> "It's a great college town, and they are about winning football games. They are among the top programs in the country on a yearly basis."

So where do things stand with the Tigers now?

"I will be talking to them in a few days.I do not have an offer from them yet. Once Coach Kul is back in town I think they will evalaute things with me and I will talk to them again."

Evan followed up his Missouri unofficial visit with one to Cincinnati the following day. I asked him to fill me in on that trip as well.

"It was basically the same thing," Winston said. 'I got to go around the athletic facilities and talk to the coaches and athletic and academic people, see the study hall and talk about my major. The coaches are the best part. Coach Jones, Coach Stripling and everyone.I have a great relationship with them all. Cincinnati is also a big city with NFL football and baseball. The best part though is my relationship with the coaches, They coached my brother before they left for Cincinnati,so I know them really well."

Evan Winston told me before that he would like to make a decision before the start of the season.

ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow his recruitment.
