Missouri's Frank Haith and staff have been searching for a few players with which to complete Missouri's roster for 2011, in addition to recruiting for 2012 and 2013. With four scholarships available, Coach Haith has picked up his third transfer to add to his 2011-2012 roster.
Following his recent visit to Missouri, former Pepperdine combo guard Keion Bell 6'3" 200, who averaged 18.9 points/game in 2010-2011, has decided to transfer to Missouri. Per transfer rules, Bell will be eligible for the 2012-2013 season, after having to sit out this season.
Bell took time to speak with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about coming to Missouri.
Bell said that he's "glad" to have the decision behind him. He decided not to take the visit to Texas A&M, saying that he didn't need to do so.
"I liked the environment (at Missouri), and I liked the people," explained Bell. "So, I just made the decision. I liked what Missouri had to offer better. And, it felt like they had more of a sense of urgency for me. So, I just went ahead and made the decision."
Bell will be moving to Missouri in "a couple of weeks", and will begin rehabbing his right wrist, which was injured in a fall last season. He said that he expects to be able to participate in practice this fall, but will of course sit out this season.
"It's a big-boy conference," said Bell, referring to playing in the Big 12 Conference. "I'm ready for it."
