Isaiah Philmore Visit Update

The Missouri Tigers are hosting several 2011 basketball prospects considering them as a possible school destination, including Isaiah Philmore. We have an update on his visit

Missouri basketball is hosting visitors this week, including F Isaiah Philmore  6'8" 230, who is transferring from Towson, and is making a tour of prospective schools, and plans to visit Xavier prior to making a decision.

Also visiting Missouri this week is 2011 F Jervon Pressley  6'8"  220  Charlotte (NC) Waddell.

ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Duane Coverdale, who is accompanying Philmore on his visits, and Coach Coverdale updated us on Philmore's visit to Missouri.

"(The visit's) going good,"  began Coach Coverdale.  "The facilities are off of the charts!  It's very impressive.......................  (Isaiah) is really enjoying himself.  He likes the guys, and the facilities.  He's pretty impressed right now."

As a transfer, Philmore will have to sit out a year, then would have two years to play.  Philmore averaged 15 points, and 8 rebounds per game last season at Towson.  Coach Coverdale described Philmore's play.

"He's more of a three than a four,"  explained Coach Coverdale.  "He takes those guys into the paint.  Bigger guys, he can take out onto the perimeter.  That's kind of what makes him as good as he is, is his versatility............................... I think he fits in to what (Coach Haith) is going to do here better than he did at Towson.  He'll fit into a motion offense very well.  And, he does well in transition."

Coach Coverdale said that Philmore plans to "take all of his visits", but cited a time crunch, with a dead period approaching.

ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow Isaiah Philmore's recruitment.
